I had a chance to meet one of my best friends and her boy friend to have sushi downtown. We indulged our taste buds at OYSY with a bottle of wine, 7 sushi platters, and ice cream. We TRIED not to talk about our prelims dissertation or theoretical concepts, and we surely did make fun of each other, as always, remembering good old days.
We were on our way to have some more wine, but Marbles, the brain store tempted us to spend about one hour playing with all those mind games at the store. Here are some that I found really entertaining:
MindFlex - I managed to get the ball into one of the pipes and throw it into the other pipe right across with mere thought!!!!
Abalone - I actually bought this one. It is like a Sumo fight where you are pushing your opponent off the game arena.
Cathedral- My friend and her boyfriend played this for a while. An innocent game ended up with a rather funny fight.
Left the store euphoric, with bags of games and a smile on our faces. We no longer needed another bottle of wine...
Any other suggestions on brain games?
Mmm, three things stood out to me in this post: Chicago, sushi, and ice cream... three of the best things ever! :) I'm glad you enjoyed. Those mind games sound like fun. I'll try learning more about them, they sound entertaining!
ReplyDeleteChicago is great except for my beloved Bears, I'll be there for New Years. That mind game with the ball is unreal. Until you try something like that, it's hard to imagine what using it is like. Is it already available for consumer purchase?

ReplyDeleteThat sounds like it was an overall fun day in the city! Not only does dining in Chicago with friends sound appealing, but so does the game Mind Flex! I hope to try out that game next time I'm in Chicago! It seems very fun for the occasional enthusiasts of psychic abilities. I am also wondering on the pricing of such a game and if it would be something I can purchase for my twelve year old cousin, whom is a lover of all technological gadgets.
ReplyDeleteIt was indeed quite an experience. Yes, it is available for purchase, and I actually thought about buying it and bringing it to class. But I was totally broke after the conference and it is pretty expensive. In amazon it is $250
